Intermediate sprints worth way more in the Grand Tours than during the regular season... Watch out for big shifts on the leaderboard after breakaway days!
Absolutely, if only we had a breakaway crystal ball, a rider who gets in the break on a day with intermediate sprint plus HC/Cat1/Cat2 climbs will score BIG BIG points, will be more value there than picking the stage winner!
I went BSE as they will feature in the BOTD every day Steve. Hopefully!!!!
Intermediate sprint points is where it's at!
That explains your purist team too then. Good thinking. Senechel is very young, but I doubt if he will feature in the youth category so I hope he will make some breakaways too. Thinking about it more you may have a coup here on the intermediete sprints there are a lot of points up for grabs. I thought with the break caught so soon my having Clement today was pointless (pun Intended) but he got 14 in the end, so its a new perspective to me and I will be thinking about it more thanks.
Joelsim.
Purist: you and me boy Perichon vs Senechal;
Good luck.
Ps Know very little about either of them, except that if Bouhanni wins a stage Senechal will pick up some points.
Go into the actual competition not the overall dashboard
Wooo!!! I'm so excited!!!!!
Might even sign up to eurosport player for a month!!!
Wow, what a tour this promises to be...
I'm assuming that the TTT doesn't count in the TdF game scoring? I haven't been able to see much about that on any of the pages. Thanks.
"Team time trials: 20, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points for each participating member of the first 10 teams"
Hard to decide just how much to prep for the next few stages with the opening roster...
Astana confirm Boom will start ....
well Astana can start him and drop out of the MPCC which is likely. At the moment they can not call up a replacement.
Lars Boom out under MPCC rules, yep Astana again

In French but a Cortisol test
Further details
Daniel Friebe @friebos
To be clear, as reported by L'Equipe, Vino says Astana either replace Lars Boom with another rider or they start with Boom & leave MPCC.
Wow... Incredible... Thanks for the heads up... I wonder how soon we'll find out for tomorrow?...
One last question before my no-changes-after-booze moratorium kicks in. If Valverde gets busted after the TdF then do we still get to keep the points?
That won't happen unless the Tour goes into Italy...
I am so torn for my purist team. I keep reading articles and interviews that make me change my mind. By now i have had at least 5 or 6 perfect teams.
Guys noobie question, am I being really dense but I can't see how many transfers we get over the tdf period?
You get 45. Spend them well.
Dux89 - a lot of the TT guys go really well on the MM stages so if you sit down and go through the previous results for the likes of Roubaix and Fleche its surprising who is there. Plus the TT is only 13k so its not going to play into the hands of the big TT riders.
If you try and ignore the sprint on the second stage (the GC probably wont change unless there's a break away) you may only need a couple of transfers. Just a thought.
TT > Sprint > Fleche Wallonne > Roubaix... not an easy stretch of days for minimizing transfers!
I seem to have the first few stages mapped out, without making too many transfers and minimising the damage, for example kinda ignoring stage 3
We all seem to have managed over the last lot of years with only two a day. The early years of fantasy was even more challenging. 1GC, 2Sprinter, 2Climber and 4Doms. The only part that remains is having only 2 riders from the one tour team.
The first week will require at least five transfers per day, and there's a good chance of getting every stage completely wrong.
There should be a special competition this year just for the 'Best Team in Week 1of the TDF'! :)... With unlimited transfers, of course!
The first part of the TdF is a fantasy nightmare...
Cool, thanks a lot for the reply.
Spotted that the Tour de France competition had appeared this morning.
Cheers
I can't see a TDF only league
There will be a TdF only league Rosco.
