Ritchey Carbon wheel schwag: we have a winner!

Friday 13th isn't unlucky for one road.cc user... is it you?

Well, there's a whole lot of you out there who wouldn't turn your nose up at a £1k set of wheels. Who knew? Over two and half thousand of you stuck your names in the hat, making this our second biggest schwag grab ever; the only one bigger being a very shiny Giant TCR...

It took a man with arms the size of Geoff Capes' thighs to turn the big tombola, but when he'd finished the gloved hand picked out a shiny orb embossed with the username...

mrkeith119!

Congratulations to Keith, if that's your name - if you still have the Trek 2.3 you list on your profile, those hoops should make quite a difference. and double the value of the bike, more or less...

If you didn't win, don't worry - there'll be another one along soon. Not Carbon wheels though, sorry... Stay tuned!

*We don't use a tombola

Roll in to the New Year in style with our blingest Schwag Grab ever... a set of 46mm Ritchey WCS Carbon Clincher wheels worth £1,175!

Thanks to the lovely people at Paligap, who distribute Ritchey in the UK, one lucky winner will get to give his or her bike an almighty 2012 upgrade. These new clincher wheels feature a full Carbon rim that's manufactured using the same techniques as the top-of-the range Superlogic tubular wheels. They're a 46mm section, and everyone knows that 46mm is the new 24mm, right? A little bit of extra slice at speed without a big weight penalty: this wheelset weighs in at just over 1,500g for a pair. The WCS Apex wheels are also available in 38mm, 50mm and 88mm depths for tubular tyres.

The hubs are Ritchey's own cold-forged and CNCed WCS units, which feature load-specific German SKF bearings. On the drive side there's a bigger 28mm race to handle the power, and opposite that a 24mm bearing shaves a few grams off the overall weight. The freehub is a high-quality six-pawl unit.

The wheels are pulled together using Sapim spokes (20 on the front and 24 to the rear) with a one-cross pattern at the front and Ritchey's Trifecta™ lacing on the rear; that's crow's foot lacing on the drive side and two-cross on the non-drive, fact fans. They're hand built to a tolerance of 0.2mm and supplied with WCS Titianium axle skewers.

That's a whole lot of wheels right there, but you could be rolling off with them for nothing! All you need to do is comment below and you're in the hat. The usual schwag grab rules apply and we'll be picking the lucky winner on Friday 13 January. So it certainly won't be unlucky for them... good luck!

Dear Santa,
I forgive you for NOT having left these wheels under the tree, seeing as you will now make up for that small oversight by letting me win them here!
Belated Merry Christmas!
