320km: this is how I roll

Avatar

Not wanting to be out done by Dave's post of his Genesis all prepared for our Friday epic, I thought I would do the same.

So here it is; My Canyon Ultimate CF, plus a couple of extra tarty bits thanks to sponsors and friends.

Frame: Ultimate CF
Wheels: Reynolds 46 (thanks to Upgrade; Paddy they were still in the office and I couldn't resist!))
Drivetrain: SRAM Force, with a Shimano Compact to hide behind
Controls: Ritchey WCS bar and stem with the Canyon VCLS post
Saddle: Terry, but the German version that you can't buy here
Tyres: Conti 24mm Grand Prix Polybreakers
Saddle Bag: Topeak Dry Bag medium
Comupter: Kurt Kinetic (Dave is on the nav. for this one)
Aerobars: Profile (in for someone else to test. Another office pinch)

When Dave first mentioned this ride in February I kind of accepted on the basis that it probably wouldn't happen, credit to Dave for sticking it. Another reason for doing it to neatly round off my University career in Bath. Having been in Bath for 5 years I have often thought about, in no real seriousness, riding back to my parents place in Colchester. So why not bite of a little more than I can comfortably chew and tick this one off the list?

I have done more than my fair share of long rides (3 x 24's and 3 12's in the past couple of years) but point to point is a whole new ball game from the sheltered MTB lap racing I am used to. Nervous? err Yes....

Hope that those of you who are interested will be able to follow the ride on the site thanks to Dave's clever tracking thingy.

You must have heard me ranting at Baggy! "That cheeky bugger's nicked my bars!" or words to that effect.
