Ride of the Roses bike ride Sunday 31 August 2014
As well as our usual 50 and 100 mile options this year we will also be introducing a 75 mile route option for our cyclists.
Our bike ride will take you through some of the most spectacular countryside that Lancashire has to offer with our 100 mile route taking cyclists to the Yorkshire border.
Starting and finishing in Banks – Southport, the 100mile route will take you out towards Settle looping around the Trough of Bowland and give you the chance to experience the challenging climbs and descents around Tosside and Dunsop Bridge. This is a challenging ride and we would recommend that cyclists taking on this route should be experienced at regularly cycling this distance, (or similar) and with hill climbing.
Our new 75 mile route will follow our 100 mile route towards the beautiful village of Waddington before crossing the Trough of Bowland to rejoin the 100 mile route close by Whitewell. This is also graded as a challenging ride.
Our 50 mile riders will follow our 100 milers for the first quarter of the ride before heading back on a slightly less challenging route.
All routes are entirely on roads and will be fully signposted. Maps and route directions will also be available on the day. The routes can also be downloaded from our website here http://www.clatterbridgecc.org.uk/events/rideroses.html
Registration in advance is £15 and £20 on the day. Group discounts are available. The sponsorship level is £30 with a prize for the highest fundraiser.
You can register on line at the above link but if you require any further information or have any questions regarding the ride please do not hesitate to contact The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre on 0151 482 7948
