New for 2017Skinny Tweed 'Vintage Section'
Some of you have suggested we include a Retro or Vintage option for Skinny Tweed, and we're very happy to oblige.Choose it as an option on the entry form, and on the day, we'll set you off in a dedicated, 'Tweed'n'Retro' wave of riders.
Bikes and clothing should be pre-1990, but we won't be too tight on the rule, so as long as you look the part you can ride with the Tweed'n'Wool gang. Your period clothes, and particularly bikes, need to be fit-for-purpose and capable of completing the ride without mechanical issues, or leaving you looking great, but very cold and wet! Please ensure your bike in particular, however old, is in working order and not liable to have problems. Helmets are still required, but these should be in good and fit-for-purpose condition.*All vintage riders will also be invited to take part in a dressed-up lap of the closed-road Family Ride town centre loop later in the afternoon.*If you're determined not to wear a helmet to keep your vintage style uncompromised, you'll be asked to sign a further waiver at registration. Cycle Law Scotland Skinny Tweed is all about a great road ride, in good company, with smiles all the way. If you've never done a Sportive before, this is the perfect opportunity to have a go, in a relaxed atmosphere. If you're training for a bigger event such as the Tesco Bank Tour O The Borders closed road sportive, it's a good way to see how the legs are doing.
Registration: Sign on is in Peebles on the Saturday morning from 8.15am. First rider out from 9am. NB this schedule is subject to change. Full details will be sent out to all riders prior to the event.
You must sign on to receive your number board.Electronic timing included and results will be posted on the event web page after the event.A sweeper will follow the last riders round to check everyone gets round OK.Course map/Route Card will be provided on sign-on, and will show feed station.
