The second Vulpine Cycling Fete is here, and after the wonderful success of the first one, organised in a rush as we launched Vulpine, here is the biggerer betterer funnerer second fete.
The concept is, and will always be the same. A fun, dynamic, inclusive way to enjoy all aspects of cycling and keep non-cyclists entertained too. There's no snobbery, just great creativity, atmosphere, booze and British entrepreneurial cycling companies that do what they do to a very high standard indeed.
Nobody pays to attend. Vulpine doesn't make any money from them. This is not a trade show. We just ask that they donate to our two nominated charities, and thus everyone feels warms and fuzzy. This fete we're all supporting Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome, fighting to save one of British cycling's greatest icons, and birthplace of Bradley Wiggins' career; and Rollapaluza Outreach, encouraging cycling and sport in schools.
The fete is again at Balham Bowls Club in South London. It is indeed an old bowling club, in Balham! (Address on poster) A big amazing place, with beautiful shabby old wood-clad walls, vintage furniture and fine beers. Its a couple of minutes from Balham tube and overground train, plus its right next to the CS7 Cycle Superhighway.
Why London again? Well, I've been so busy launching Vulpine, and the last fete nearly did me in, so I took the selfish decision to keep the organisation the same, until I have staff to help me next year. We definitely want to take the fete around the UK next year. Do email us with any recommendations and requests for us to come to your area.
We're doing 3pm-9pm this time because lights twinkle better at night, and I love European christmas night markets. It also means the Rollapaluza roller racing can go on until late, with many a glass of mulled wine raised in celebration of cycling endevour.
There's so many things going on.
I guess the country is more policed... also we have a lot of radars for example, could they do some checking in addition to speed limits and red...
I lived a fair distance, 40 ish minutes walk, which I did every day. Only one of my house shares had a car and he walked too. Back then 92 to 95...
3 quid from planet X......
The front one seems a bit useless - what is it protecting, if not the feet, chain(wheel) and entire bottom bracket area? I found that "ToeSavers"...
I'll stick with my photocromatic ones from Rock Bros for 25 quid that are also way lighter.
I'm sure that somethings wrong here, but I don't think that it's the new traffic island...
The vision couldn't have been that good ,they went bankrupt.
I disagree, the lucky few who get to wear one of these will certainly produce more mass.
That wasn't what my original post was about - it was about the NHS as it is now. If you're going to be run over by an ambulance tomorrow, there are...
I prefer the not haveing to faff with brakes in first place, which is the typical reality for hydraulic systems.
