FORUM'S SCORUM's MINI LEAGUE 2014(Spring Classics and Pre-Giro tours)

Just a few points of business

1)The League we are using is the one with apostrophe's named Forum's Scorum's with an ID of 76157

2)As well as the standard competitions we will also have a UCI type ranking system(to be reffered to as FSUCI) based on pts assigned for stages and competitions as follows:

Grand Tour Overall:35,20,15,10,7,5,4,3,2,1
Grand Tour Purist Overall:10,6,3,2,1
Multi Stage Race Overall:10,6,3,2,1
Multi Stage Race Overall Purist:5,4,3,2,1
Autumn Classics/Spring Classics/Worlds/Commonwealths/Womens World Cup Overall Competitions(standard only):20,15,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
Every Stage:3,2,1....ties will be broken by GC position within that competition and then within the game.
Queen Stage in Giro/TDF/Vuelta:10,8,6,4,2,1

I'll try and outline the points available for each competition prior to the start

3)CUT OFF TIMES

a)Teams must be entered into the league on stage 1 of a tour/multi stage competition to be considered for the GC in that race.

b)Teams must be entered by STAGE ONE of the SPRING CLASSICS to be considered for GC in the Overall Competition.

c)Teams will be considered for stage FSUCI ranking points for individual stages on the stage in which they enter......and FSUCI ranking points for competition GC from the first race that they are entered for AT STAGE ONE.

4) Below we will keep a record of the individual competition winners and add them to those of 2013

click on competition and then access the league via that or via home for last stage processed?

I'll do E3,GW,Trofea and Catalunya(simon F will be looking for the win) tomorrow

I'm not optimistic. It's a bit of a lottery today - whoever gets someone in the break is the likely winner - 10 cat 3 hills and 2 sprints is a lot of points.

Is there a way u can view last stage played in the forum scorum league, rather than just overall standings? I suppose you must be able to see something like that in order to score the league etc, just wondered if it is publicly viewable or if I'd just missed it.

Very competitive this season and we currently have 2nd,3rd,5th,8th and 10th in the game overall within our league.

Defo enjoying the forum scorums this year, finally getting some points on the board and winning some of the stages, might miss out on the overall league but a chance to do well in this one!

Yup.....but read the rules in first post as far as cut off times for the competitions within the league.....overall GC closed after the first spring classic unfortunately 102

Had a hectic few days at work(I work as a hospital anaesthetist and have been on call for what feels like an eternity).....will get all these updated tomorrow as I actually have a day off......and I'll probably see what old livestrongnick has got to smile about LOL

After action in 3 different competitions we have some updates

SPRING CLASSICS

A stunning return to form for happylemon(159pts) in the Forum's Scorum's Roma Maxima fairly blew away the field....silas chime and ojbutterwick finished 2nd and 3rd.
andynic now has a very impressive first and second in the competition.

To be honest i thought it would be a countback job to decide the winner of the first Team Time Trial of the season but it there was clear daylight(14pts) between our winner backflipbedlam and Jonas Lorenzen with SounD_az7 a further 4 pts back.

Well Andynic you held on to 1st and 3rd in the forum's Scorum's Spring Classics competition but your purist and standard changed positions.......and it's now very close at the top between your 2 teams and that of NeilG83.

Neil won the Strade Bianche in a 4-way photo finish(aka position in the SC competition) from the domestique and Wig_Billy.....and Georgeodio the odd man out kept off the podium.

All 4 had the same 4 scoring riders.

I will indeed be sad to leave Belgium. I'll just linger a while and watch a few episodes of Salamander, while drinking some Chimay and singing a few verses of "Here's to you, Vincent Kompany..." I suspect it's metaphorically, if not topographically, downhill from here.

Forum's Scorum's Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne threw up the closest race of the year so far with the first three ALL having the same teams.....the order was decided by photograph(or GC in the race as we call it) giving the result as andynic(standard),Johnny2names(purist) and andynic(purist) in that order.

It also leaves andynic in great shape for the Spring Classsics GC as he has 1st AND third in the competition and he'll be sad to leave the cobbles of Belgium behind for the white chalky roads of Italy.

Please note that for the Spring Classics Overall competition there will be NO purist competition for FSUCI ranking points.....but purist teams will be eligible for stage and overall points.
The Top 10 Overall will score 20,15,10,8,6,5,4,3,2,1
Stages will be scored as usual 3,2,1 for the first three.

Some feel it's the real beginning of the season....The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad did not disappoint...is there a better sight in cycling than 'The Docker' opening the taps on his diesel engine in the filthy rain?
The Forum's Scorum's Omloop was won in similarly close fashion by NeilG83 who edged out andynic by 3pts....with SounD-az7 rounding out the podium(sorry JAndrewHill.....countback rules put you 4th).
