Yep, not sure what the Road.cc web masters have done, but they made a change 24-48 hours ago that is seriously clogging the page load. It seems to be the Home Page that's the culprit, clicking to other pages isn't too bad, but first time on the site or returning to the Home Page from an article is very slow.
Should be easy for a good web dev to sort out.
During a similar discussion a while ago, some wise soul pointed out to me that it was related to being signed in. Log out and it all works 'normally'. It's a real pain in the arse but i'm not holding my breath about it being fixed - it surely can't be _that_ difficult to profile the connection in-house and see where the bottleneck is...
Yeah, it's odd because of other sites (singletrackworld, roadcyclinguk, bikeradar) this site is the probably least clogged with intrusive advertising!
