Thanks for all your comments so far, obviously too much to choose from so this may take sometime!
Oh, and another one to mention if you budget stretched just a little bit further is going for the titanium option.

If you wanted to read more about this bike I read a good review of it in a recent edition of Cycling Plus.

Hi Gazsim,
One to consider, and especially if you can find a discount (the 2017 model is a lot more money at £3,500), is the 2016 Kona Roadhouse.
You mention that you want endurance based geometry and an 11-32 cassette so I think that this bike would tick a lot of your boxes.

You might also find something that you like in The Light Blue range:-

Or at the very top end (or maybe even just above it) is the Fairlight Strael which looks very nice.

Good luck with your search and finsing the right bike for you.

How could you not consider the CAAD 12 with 105 and hydro disc brakes??
What a fantastic looking bike in that black with blue stripes!
That is what I would buy with your budget, just my 2p![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)
Thanks for all your comments.
Must admit I'm still leaning to my original gut choice now which was the Canyon Endurance AL 7.0 Disc! Great looking bike and obviously good value with the Ultegra group set so might be worth the punt without riding first. Giant Defy Advanced is up there and the Cube and Ribble.......
The only advice I'd give you is to look for reduced 2016 models, as you might be able to get Ultegra bike for the money.
I've taken a measured punt and ordered a Canyon Endurace AL Disc 7.0 - due early April.
https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/endurace/endurace-al-disc-7-0.html
Alu frame, ultegra group, ultegra-level hydraulic discs, 12mm thru-axles, 28mm tyres, 50-34 / 11-32. I'm commuting 100-120miles a week at the moment with occasional long weekend rides, so it ticked all the boxes. It really depends on your needs, but I struggled to find anything else disc equipped with a sensible modern spec and no big compromises.
Bike of the year, Boardman SLR.
How about a Ridley Fenix C60 has Shimano 105
Test ride as many as you can then check out places like bikesales.org.uk Pauls cycles and the usual suspects to find the best deal though many local bike shops will have some good deals on 2016 models depending what size you are. Buy the one that gives you the biggest grin and can afford - you'll ride it way more than one you are not so sure about.
I bought a Canyon Endurace CF 9.0 Disc last month. Really nice and comfortable. Bought it on Thursday eve, arrived the next Wednesday. My experience of Canyon has only been positive.
A Ribble of some sort. Yes, online, but they do do some aftercare stuff quite well, and you pick the exact bits you want (within your budget)
Hi , I've just bought a Cube Attain, which you've no doubt looked at as it seems to fit most of your criteria. GTC carbon pro disc is about 1700 quid in 2017 livery, but Rutland have the 2016 56cm and(maybe) 58cm at £999.99 and as far as I can tell the only difference is the paint job. If you want to spend up to budget the 2016 GTC SL has lighter wheels and full ultegra (and is a bit less garish) but is hard to find at such a good discount.
I'd love to tell you that it rides like a dream, but the pedals only arrived last night and I've not had chance to take it for a spin. Review available on 'another cycling website'.
Good luck.
