OK. Bike with really LOUD colour scheme, with clashing day-glo helmet. No other kit at all, save for clown shoes.
Should make it obvious.
Other than that - it's all about tits. Time In The Saddle. Leave the "chemical training" for race day and endurance events. Just get on it and ride it, you'll soon get stronger and faster.

Depend on how eagerly you have been taking up cycling you may just be suffering from fatigue.
I manage around 4000 miles a year as a weekend warrior; I sure as hell feel it if I ride anything more than ~30miles on the Saturday and then go out on Sunday as well. Wooden legs to begin with at least isn't unusual.
