Elderly couple fuming over parking ticket for briefly pulling over at bus stop in Wye, Ashford
Mr Winchester added: “I understand if you break the law you have to face the consequences but I was two minutes at a stop where the bus only comes once an hour. It becomes rather a laughing matter.
“Where is the leeway? I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. This is unnecessary aggravation.”

Cars didn't entirely create this long unhappy series of events, but cars propeled the story along. And I say to myself, "you don't know who they are or what they're capable of"

Growing frustration after roadworks and delays

Apparently, if you put in a lower speed limit, drivers will go twice the limit to show their frustration and cause even more devastating collisions so please do not lower limits. Or something like that.
couldn't let today pass without commemorating the new 20 mph default speed limit in Wales.

Families stuck in 'nightmare' Devon road thrown lifeline
A petition was presented to Devon County Council calling for action over Kingsford Lane in Longdown near Exeter after residents said the surface had deteriorated to the point where they risk injury and serious damage to their cars.
One resident said: “We all feel that the council doesn’t care. The damage to our cars is constant and family and friends no longer want to come up the lane to visit us.”

I always find it weird when people who claim to be church-(chapel-)going Christians complain about their loved ones being disturbed and unable to sleep in their graves... I didn't think Christian theology teaches that the dead are just down there sleeping and grumbling.
That being said, I'm in no way defending building an access road and a car park on top of a graveyard.
(I suspect some of this comes down to the new Christian owners not thinking that the old Christian owners were 'proper' Christians, so it doesn't matter what they do to the heathens...).
We have a mobile speed van which sometimes hangs around here:
https://goo.gl/maps/xUCR7dehcAgRt5WDA
To catch the countless number of drivers going over 30mph. However, some anti social driver or other will flash the ongoing traffic to warn them of the camera ahead. While it does slow people down for just that one trip, it does not do what the traffic camera should do, fine them in order for them to learn to permanently
chnage their ways.
Anyone who flashes another drivers (careful now) to warn them of a speed camera should be fined too.
I would have thought it would have been much easier to get a parking enforcement company in to run the car park and thus, anyone who does not use the pub, gets a Parking Charge Notice, the "profits" of which, the pub can share.
We have a local pub which does just this. You simply tap your number into a tablet when entering the pub and that's it, free parking. Its so easy to do, no one moans anymore and problem solved.
I saw that earlier. Hilarious.
"Hey Siri, directions to my parked car"
"There are too many cars competing for too few spaces. It really is that simple."
And yet Andy has no solution other than "I should be able to park on *my* road"
Attempted murder.
If he'd tried that on a cyclist, maybe careless driving.
And of course they are all "ULEZ fines". One fleeting mention that he is in fact facing three separate fines, presumably only one of which is the ULEZ. (Would hazard a guess that one of the others is Congestion Charge, and the third no idea. LTN/bus lane infringement?)
And zero mention of the fact that that given he admits to having seen the signs and being aware he was entering the ULEZ, he could have simply paid the charge (£12.50) within three days of his journey, rather than ignoring it until getting hit with a fine.
I've friends who have been doing this for years. Not that new a hack. I've also shouted on some youngsters to do the same for me though I suppose I could have walked to the lights myself but that means trying to get back on the bike and then try and join live traffic once they turn green.
Looks like it might be a 20 minute walk, save five minutes!
That parking space charge does seem unfair. If they're going to insist that people only park in marked spaces, then the markings should be clear and unambiguous. If they don't want people parking in that space, then they need to just put yellow diagonal lines across it.
The dog (with big hands) said "it's just a novelty seat cushion, honest".
I'm not a dog expert, but that doesn't look like a labrador?
That would probably be one of those diesel N57 engine BMWs, they're well known for combusting
I don't believe the comments are going the way he was expecting.
The last para makes no sense
"Please be advised that, in order to access the Royal Mail car park, the route must be clear for you to drive straight in as waiting on either the road or pavement would place you in contravention of the restrictions."
This would equally apply to anyone wanting to drive over a dropped kerb to their house and waiting for peds to clear the way.
Are they seriously suggesting drivers should go up and down until there are no peds ?
I saw Welsh tories are calling it a war on motorists. Predictably.
