Storck are producing 50 Aernario Signature Edition bikes to mark the 50th birthday of head honch Markus Storck.
If you fancy something a little bit special and you have a spare £15,000 kicking around that you don't know what to do with (that's all of us, right?) then this might be just what you're looking for.
Storck say that they’ve upgraded the carbon and resin used for this model, and that they've gone for a raw hand-polished finish (as opposed to lacquer). They reckon that the raw finish is possible ‘because of the ultra high manufacturing quality’ that they're offering.
Few decals are used here, Storck going for the ‘less is more’ approach. Spend £15,000 on a bike and you don't need to shout about it, and multiple logos are just so vulgar. You do get a Storck logo, Markus’ signature, and a serial number on the top tube... and that's yer lot.
The Signature Edition bikes are built up with some very select components including a THM Scapula CT fork, German handmade THM Powerarms G2 cranks, and a set of superlight THM Fibula Carbon brakes. Each of these has a matt clear coat finish to complement the frame.
Each bike also comes fitted with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 groupset, Storck’s own Platinum bar and post, plus a Lightweight’s Obermayer wheelset – so Storck haven't made any concessions to budget here.
The saddle pictured has been customised to Markus’ anatomy, whereas the ones on the Signature Edition bikes for sale are standard Selle Italia Monolink SLRs.
The frame weighs 790g and Storck give the complete bike weight as just 5.38kg (11.8lb) in a size 57cm.
If you want one of these bad boys for yourself – and you have a few quid tucked away for a rainy day – go to www.storck-bicycle.cc/road-bikes/aernario-signature-2014. The rest of us... maybe after next payday.

Attempt at humor....
It's not really a myth that tubs can flat. Been there, done that, hiked home in the sleet. Cross is different.
Anyway, it's a freaking gorgeous bike. I'm contemplating selling an organ to buy one. And if I could afford one,I'd definitely pony up for the van to follow me with spare wheels.
I don't have £15k and therefore shall not buy one.
If people have, and do, I'll not mind or judge.
not much there for 15 grand imo, I would rather have the basic or platinum version ...
Stunning.
Given the spec it's actually not that outrageous. That wheelset alone is 4k+ and the groupset 2k+ 5k on the frame leaves 4k for the best finishing kit money can buy. It's the equivalent of a Porcshe GT3 or similar in motoring terms so the price is going to be high. If money were no object i'd buy it.
Seeing as it comes with tubulars, I assume Storck also supplies a driver and a van to follow you around with spare wheels?
Myth.
Have no problems with my tubs at all.
Cyclcross riders seem to manage just fine as well...!
I don't think I'd risk it on the roads near me. Oh well, I'll have to find something else to spend the £15k that's burning a hole in my pocket.
Crazy it's less than 6kg with di2!
Yeah build few keep the prices high, they didn't see the fools who are easily parted from their money coming now did they?
hmm would've got one as winter bike but not without Campagnolo on it, I'll pass then!
£15k for a bicycle with a frame MIA ?
Pure marketing BS.
11.8kg? I think I'll save my money
ahem. yes.
Guys it is 5.38kg (11.8lb) not 11.8 Kg!
A penny shy of 15 Grand
Bargain.

I'm always a bit suspicious when an item designed and manufactured abroad and therefore probably priced to meet a local price point (in this case euros) conveniently hits a sterling price point (albeit a very high one in this case). That said, I know nothing about economics and am prepared to be educated.
