Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving following Horsham incident

Luigi Dannile due to appear in court today

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following an incident which took place in Horsham, West Sussex on Monday. 26-year-old Luigi Dannile has also been charged with driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

Michael Dixon, 65, was cycling south in Kerves Lane, Horsham, when he was struck by a silver Citroen C2 shortly before 11am on Monday 8th December. Land and air ambulance paramedics attended, but sadly he died at the scene.

Dannile, of Copsale, near Horsham, was remanded in custody and will appear at Crawley Magistrates' Court today. Police are still appealing for any witnesses to call 101 or email collision.appeal [at] sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Ashling.

Dixon's family said: "Mike was a much loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He lost his life doing something he loved. We are devastated by our sudden loss and ask for privacy at this difficult time."
