Brooks launch Cambium C17 Denim limited edition saddle with Levi’s + video

New saddle available in a run of just 1,000

Brooks England have hooked up with Levi’s Commuter range to launched a numbered limited edition Cambium C17 Denim saddle.

The new saddle is available from today at Brooks’ B 1866 store in London’s Seven Dials, and from the Brooks online shop

The original C17 has the same basic structure as a classic Brooks leather saddle, but instead of a sheet of leather across the ends of the rails, Brooks use a combination of vulcanised natural rubber, cotton canvas and structural textile for the top.

For the 1,000 C17 Denim limited edition saddles, Brooks use the same vulcanisation techniques but rather than the usual organic cotton, the saddle features recycled Levi’s denim that was donated last summer at Levi’s Commuter Workspaces in New York, Los Angeles and London. That means there's a lot of variation in the colour of the finished articles.

When we reviewed the original C17 saddle here on road.cc we said that it was a “wonderfully comfortable fusion of classic ideas and modern materials”, and gave it an overall score of 9 out of 10.

The price? €180. Find out at more at www.brooksengland.com.

Surely fixie hipsters would want a Red Tab on it?

Remember that heritage that Brooks used to have, that history, that tradition?

They can't.

This should send most fixie owners and hipsters into raptures!
Interesting product. If I lived in a city I'd probably buy one.
As it is I think I'll be getting the standard cambium shortly.

If you lived in a city, you'd get to keep it for about a week.

I've just been advised by Tampax Corp. that they have not patented any bike seat. So I've been put in my place. Saying that, I've heard on the grapevine they are developing a new cycle glove with extra padding. So Sit on that Tampax Corp.

I'm a female, so technically not a sexist comment.
