You already ride a bike, but if you fancy doing a little bit more for the environment, how about a high-end bike jersey made out of recycled plastic bottles?
Already used for some base layers and fleece jumpers, the recycled fabric has excellent wicking properties and can help get rid of stinky sweat smells.
The company behind the premium jerseys, OORR (Out Of The Rat Race) from Australia, has come up with leg warmers and one jersey so far - The Oorriginal.
It says of the product:
This is our launch jersey - our flagship item of apparel. Designed with performance and comfort as the priority, this is the jersey to outshine it's rivals in every way, and do it using recycled materials.
The OORRiginal features:
Flatlock stitching, to achieve optimal comfort at the seams and keep a closer profile next to the skin
Very lightly brushed fabric on the skin side for a softer feel, and to aid moisture absorption
Snug fitting Raglan sleeves
Full-length YKK Natulon front zipper - made from 100% recycled PET bottles
OORR proprietary fabric - 100% recycled PET (plastic bottles)
Fused with anti-odour nanotechnology that won't wash out (like silver) and not bad for the environment (like silver)
Mesh panels on the side and through the armpits to aid in heat evacuation from your hotspots
3 Generous rear pockets with reflective detailing
Additional reflective zippered pocket
Headphone hole for internal routing of your cable from right rear pocket
Pump holder - to secure your mini-pump in the middle rear pocket
Asymmetric design with right sleeve logo and left sleeve reflective detailing
Embroidered recycled sign on right breast - a subtle indicator that you're riding green
Silicon waistband with an unbroken bead of silicon, so your jersey stays where you want it
Reflective logo at rear of collar and pockets
Director Tim Christian told BikeBiz: ”Without sacrificing quality, we are producing premium technical apparel using recycled materials. We are giving consumers a clear choice at the checkout – do they want a premium jersey, or a premium jersey that's green?"
The company is now looking for global distributors.
Also under development for 2016 are mens’ and womens’ summer jerseys and shorts, socks, caps, and arm and leg warmers.

I think Santini SMS had launched a similar jersey some three years ago, which was made from recycled polyester. Can not remember if it actually was from bottles - but I think so.
Oh no - my wool is made from recycled vergetables
If doing something for the environment is your goal in buying jerseys then buy *wool*! Sheep on a moor or hill is at least a little bit more natural, environmentally friendly and sustainable than any synthetics, be they made from recycled plastic or otherwise.
Cannondale has been selling apparel using polyester made with recycled bottles for several years now - I think around 50% of polyester is sourced from plastic bottles.
As have patagonia, and i am sure Polartec were making recycled fleece 20+ years ago.
and this is alluded to in the beginning of the article.
Point of difference is this uses nano-technology to get rid of the odours. And that is new.
I seem to remember Cannondale selling a gilet made mainly of recycled aluminium cans, but that was probably 15-20 years ago or so. I always thought that sounded pretty cool, but I guess it didn't work too well.
I don't want a "wickable" jersey, though. Should I expect it to get sucked out through a jacket at some point? Suffixes do have meanings, you know; you can't pick any one you want purely for the sake of variety (at least, not without writing nonsense).
You've not exactly killed yourselves in telling us about this have you?
There is a much better picture on the website which shows the jersey properly, and the price 139 Aus dollars plus 20 dollars for shipping would have been useful info too....
You go and watch Countryfile...
