Bradley Wiggins back in Yorkshire in a fortnight - to ride a club 10

World time trial champion to use City Road Club Hull as prep for Hour record attempt next month

Sir Bradley Wiggins, who started his first race for his Team Wiggins in Bridlington this morning as the Tour de Yorkshire got under way, will be back in the East Riding later this month – to ride a club 10 mile time trial.

The reigning world champion in the discipline is believed to be using the event Saturday 16 May between South Cave and North Ferriby as part of his preparation for his Hour record attempt next month.

Ken Bateman, chairman of City Road Club (Hull) which organises the event told the Hull Daily Mail: We are over the moon. It will be a huge occasion to have Sir Bradley Wiggins doing what he does best in our time trial on the A63.

"It will be a huge occasion to have Sir Bradley Wiggins doing what he does best in our time trial on the A63.

"I will be marshalling for the event and it will be absolutely great to see Bradley go past. The road will not be closed for the event – it will still be open to traffic.

"The best vantage points will be from the bridges over the road. It will be a sight not to be missed,” he added.

Before the start of the Tour de Yorkshire in Bridlington this morning, Wiggins joked that he’d hoped that organisers might have found space for a time trial stage during the three days of the race.

Not so much a proof-reader required here more like someone to get the basic facts right. It's an open TT not a club event.

Great publicity for the local TT scene.

(Road.cc when are you going to hire a proof reader, the regularity of poor publishing is worthy of the 90'3 Guardian)

Yes that 3 is there on purpose...
