Cycling fans in the South West are being invited to head to Bristol this Sunday weekend for an Easter Bicycle Treasure Hunt being run by Cyclodelic, the women’s cycle clothing brand whose designs have been featured here on road.cc.
Entitled ‘Bicycles Bunnies Bonnets and Booze,’ cyclists, male and female alike, are urged to “come as your favorite Summer drink” – that’s got me wondering how to translate a Mint Juleep into a costume – “don a fine Easter bonnet or fluff up your cottontail for an afternoon’s bicycle adventure around Central Bristol.”
Things get going at 4pm from the Howies store in Bristol, which will also host the afterparty from 7pm, and entry is £5 per person, with all proceeds benefiting the charity EJF. Participants are asked to bring their bikes – naturally – a Bristol A-Z, a digital camera or cameraphone, and some lipstick. We’re sure the need for the last will become apparent as the afternoon progresses.
Obviously that’s just one of the cycle-themed events being held at the Howies store in Bristol over the last couple of weeks, with A Beautiful Machine, a fortnight long celebration of all things bike related now in full swing.
And don’t forget that as part of that, on Good Friday at 6.30pm road.cc will be among the speakers at the Howies store, along with Ben Hillsdon, who will talk about Bristol's Cycling City project, plus Gavin Strange, whose forthcoming film Böikzmöind focuses on the city’s fixed scene. Tickets cost £5.
