Today is the third annual Cycle to Work Day, and people have been taking to social media to talk about their journeys.
Created by Cyclescheme, the initiative has seen more than 30,000 cyclists and almost 900 employers make pledges via the Cycle to Work Day website, with almost half a million miles due to be ridden collectively.

Every day is a cycle to work day unless you are a part time lazy fucker. I was off today anyway. Replaced the bearings and cones in my bike's rear hub as it was a bit rough after one year and 12,000 miles. Riding to work over the weekend though and monday, tuesday and wednesday …...
Busy ride but it appears I missed a section in the highway code apparently I should give way to cars entering a roundabout on my left as its inconvenient for them to stop just for a bike. You learn something new everyday
Yeah the other day I had one that sort of gave way but also rolled forward as I came round leaving me in doubt as to whether they were pulling out or not. Then wondered why I slowed down.
Ah, the old game of Inch-Brake-Inch-Brake-Inch. Classic.
Nice ride to work and back for me. Third day on the trot (usually only manage a couple of times a week) and first ride on my new DCR wheels
Pretty crap on my ride in too. Drivers gave a bloody dead pigeon more room than they gave me! Deffo #drivelikeaprickday
Yeah it was back to school day in Fareham and it was more like drive your 4x4 to work day, it was noticeably more dreadful than it had been for some time.
I'm feeling pretty miserable because today on #CycleToWorkDay my bike, which I normally use to cycle to work is on it's way to Holland ready for me to ride 200 miles this weekend. #MyCycleWeekend is looking good though!
Nice though it is it was very noticeable that Cycle to Work day coincided with Back to the School Run day (as well as international Drive like a Bell-End decade), it was *carnage this morning.
*hyperbole intended.
