Everyone loves a garbled diversion and we’re sure you’ll agree that the one pictured above is a beauty. It’s on Whitechapel Road on Cycle Superhighway 2.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
They’re digging up the East-West Cycle Superhighway to fix a leaking pipe between Blackfriars Bridge and Temple.
As Twitter user Matthew Sparkes points out, there’s no "cyclists dismount" for this diversion.

Those 2 videos show quite reasonable and nice diversions. Narrow, but protected from motor traffic.
These cycle lanes are a waste of money... no one will use them.
"Cyclists Dismount" Why? Can't I ride on the road?
Well you could if you could navigate your way around the cluster f*** of temporary street furniture between the cycle lane and the main carriageway.
CS2 is technically just a bus lane half painted in blue - this is quite possibly an improvement

Wow look at that drain cover fitted with the grating in-line with the direction of travel at 35 seconds in the first video!
The drains actually have criss-cross grates along the EWSH - a nice touch and I think that one is no exception, just doesn't show up well in the video.

Perhaps the Whitechapel Road people haven't read it.
