Looks like not the UK, but Britain only. I don't see any climbs in Northern Ireland.
Either there are none (?), or the manufacturer does not know that the the UK consists of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England.
yes I can be fair and truthfull - yes I blew up on that steep bend and came to a halt - no way was I going to get back going and clip in so had to walk, but I have done Twtil road which was proper hard it is 30% at it steepest point and is longer so I am proud of that one!
It's officially one way, down only! There's a short part of it on a bend that is 40% and almost unrideable, a bit like riding up a staircase.
With the help of google we find the steepest street in the world is Baldwin Street in Dunedin. NZ. Perhaps these guys should stake a claim. (On a serious note I rather doubt it's 40%, few cars can make it up 40%)
its in Hallech, Ffordd Pen Llech road, I have done it years ago but you have to be a bit naughty as it is now one way - down only! Twtil road climb is very steep too so you could just tick that one off the list as I think that is just as bonkers!
what's the 40% climb in west wales (left of the photo)?
the side of Helvellyn?
(The steepest road in the world is allegedly 35% so it seems unlikely there's a 40%)
Go to google street view, at the top there is a incline sign with 40% on it! (Just above the castle)
Helvellyn is in the Lakes, not Snowdonia!
Ooh, apparently there's an audax version of this - heard about it this weekend. And want.
Scratch and sniff the smell of Black Pudding!
