Hoy confirmed for Revolution 8

Busy season ahead for Olympic champ

Revolution season 8 gets underway at the National Cycling Centre on October 23 with Olympic Champion Chris Hoy the first star rider confirmed.

The event will form part of a busy early season for Hoy, who will be using Revolution and the National Track Championships as part of his preparation for the European Championships in early November.

“Revolution always provides an excellent standard of racing and an opportunity to compete against some of the top international sprinters,” said Hoy. “The first event will play a part in the build up to the European Championships so I’m looking forward to racing in front of the Revolution crowds once again.”

Hoy will also be looking to score some crucial points in the Revolution Championship which returns after a successful pilot last season. Hoy will be racing for Team Sky in a move by organisers to include trade teams in the competition.

“We piloted the championship last season using manufactured teams,” commented Face Partnership’s James Pope. “Our vision has always been to create the premier league of track cycling so the move to include the top trade teams is a logical development and one that will help the fans get behind their chosen team.”

The Revolution Championship will see eight teams racing for points across four events. Future Stars and Elite riders will score points for the team making every race important in the challenge for the Championship title.

The 2010-11 dates are confirmed as  October 23,  November 20 , December 11 and  January 15. Tickets are now on general release for the four events and are available to purchase from www.cyclingrevolution.com or by calling 0843 208 1840.
