Isn't it illegal in this country for a 'free entry' contest to require a purchase to enter? So isn't it illegal to make entry into this competition dependent on having already purchased a trainer?
https://www.out-law.com/page-6780
No.
WIN something you already have and the rest go to hell
I'm now borrowing a trainer, so looking forward to getting online and seeing what all this zwift fuss is about.
Some people I know totally hibernate in the dark months and rave about their ride through London or Zwiftopia or wherever.. it's a bit weird, but hey I wear day glow socks, shave my legs, dress like a human sausage and walk around town sniffing coffee so...
What's a 'fondo' and how long does it last?
The rides look to be around 25 miles, a little over an hour. Take part in most of the events to be put into the draw for a decent direct drive smart Trainer
Do I have to sign up to Zwift for a fair whack too?
Pointless
I'm hoping 8 o'clock on Mondays won't be the only opportunity to Zwift with Road.cc, it's about the only evening of the week I can't make. I wear my road.cc jersey with pride when I'm zwifting and look forward to being able to participate in your events, just not at this time on Mondays!
there's quite a few of us knocking about on zwift over the course of a week, and no, it won't be the only road.cc stuff going on!
Aww I was all excited about this as I'd love a trainer... until I saw you need to own a turbo trainer already to win another turbo trainer.
I know my place.
Agreed that is kind of lame! I get they are trying to encourage people into it, but these turbo's are £1k so quite an investment.
This competition should be open to all to enter....
You can go on Zwift with any trainer. You don't need to spend £1k.
You could find a local gym with a Zwift-compatible trainer and enter using that. Just a thought.
