Police appeal after car passenger pushes Hants cyclist off bike

Incident happened near Tesco in Whitchurch on Monday evening

Police in Hampshire are appealing for information after a cyclist was pushed off his bike on Sunday evening in Whitchurch.

According to community website whitchurch.org.uk the incident happened at around 9pm near Tesco on Winchester Road, with the vehicle involved said to be a white Volkswagen Golf or similar.

A report, removing the victim’s name, said: “As he approached the Silk Mill Bridge (heading towards Tesco) he was aware a car was travelling behind him and as the road was clear he waited for the car to overtake him, only it still followed him.

“Suddenly the car accelerated and came abreast of him, the person in the rear seat had his window down and as they passed that person put their hand out and shoved him, causing him to come off his bike.

“He suffered cuts and bruising and his bike is severely damaged.”

Hampshire Constabulary have been informed of the incident and anyone with information is requested to contact them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 44180450520.

Just typical of the lowlife in Hants and of the Police here. The lives of people on bikes are worth less than others.

I hope they can track them down and there is sufficient evidence to prosecute. This is just unnecessarily shit behaviour. And by shit, I mean ABH. (Or is it GBH, I can never remember what constitutes what! Definitely assault of some sort.) If they want to feel slightly better about it, I ssupect that these scrotes are the same sort of people who terrorise paediatricians or the disabled or just about anyone...

I had a similar incident a few years ago (I didn't fall off). I gave a good description of the car and the cunt passenger who hit me. But, as the driver wouldn't give up the passenger, the police said they couldn't do any more.....
