The UK’s first handmade and boutique Bicycle Show - Bespoked Bristol 2011 – is shaping up to be an unmissable event for fans of custom bikes.
And for would-be buyers, the show on June 11 and 12 at the Paintworks, Bristol will be a fantastic opportunity to see a huge range of bespoke bikes in the steel, as well as a chance to talk to framebuilders and discuss your wants, needs and fantasies with the people who can turn them into reality.
Established names like Enigma, Condor, Roukes, Burls, Lee Cooper and Villiers Velo will be showing alongside the leading new generation of framebuilders including Feather Cycles, Demon Frameworks, Donhou Cycles, Peter’s Bike, Ted James Designs, 18 Bikes and Hammoon Cycles.
Between them the exhibitors will be able to craft the bike you’ve always promised yourself be it a one to take you around the world, a pure speed machine or a steed that will do it all. If you don’t like grease and dirt under your fingernails, the ultra-low maintenance bike from Milk may hit the spot or perhaps you’re after the relaxed styling of a Paper Bike.
Tokyo Fixed will be on hand while American framebuilding will also be on display courtesy of frames from Waterford and Gunner. For something a bit different check out the Kevlar spider open lattice tube design on Delta 7’s Iso Truss frames.
Enigma have extended their space to accommodate the unveiling of a ‘rather special new addition’ to their range as well as showcasing the existing 2011 offerings.
There will be handmade wheels to drool over too, courtesy of Strada and Just Riding Along as well as cycling apparel by Miltag, Swrve and Shutt Velo Rapide.
And if you suddenly come over all inspired to learn the art of framebuilding, Downland Cycles will be giving away a place on one of their framebuilding courses to the lucky winner of a mitre-cutting competition which will take place at the show over the course of the weekend.
Admission will be £5 on the door or tickets will be available to purchase online from mid April at £5.50 inclusive of booking fee and postage. If you buy your ticket online before May 31 you can take advantage of a 2 for 1 entry ticket, so if two of you are coming you will only need to purchase one ticket.
