UK hill climb season in full swing

Great video of the Catford Hill Climb by Mat Pennell

The legendary Catford CC Hill Climb in the morning and afternoon Bec CC Hill Climb  were run off today as usual on nearby hills in the West of Kent. Also as usual and with respect to the riders who did the fastest times, the real winners were the spectators who enjoy this autumnal spectacle like no other.

These are events to ride out to from all over Greater London, Kent and Surrey, with a pub lunch in the middle; ample opportunity to meet up with riders awheel that you might only see once a year. The weather was good although the tree shaded lanes were damp and greasy which had the third-time winner in the morning Rob Gough suffering like many with traction problems after lunch, having to settle for eighth place and over a ten second beating by young rising star Germaine Burton.

The video of the Catford Hill Climb by Mat Pennell of Optimum Cadence Films pretty well sums up the day. Enjoy.

707 yards with two 25% sections, apparently, for the Catford which is on Yorks Hill. Not sure about average gradient, though. Anyone?

Super vid, really captures the day. You can see me at 1:40 in the blue shirt on the all steel bike weaving towards the line. Had a gearing issue just as the crowd came into sight. It virtually bought me to a halt until the crowd got behind me. Thanks for the support...my head hurt for about an hour after that!

Great video, no need for commentary, the action says it all.
