Dates and venue confirmed for 2nd European Handmade Bicycle Exhibition

If it's May 2010 it must be the Congress-Centrum Stadtgarten, Schwäbisch Gmünd in Southern Germany… that's where next year's European Handmade Bicycle Exhibition (EHBE) is taking place, same place as this year's show in fact.

Following on from the success of the first EHBE this year EHBE 2010 will bring together some beautiful people and a lot more beautiful bikes from the likes of French outfit Julie Racing Design whose work is pictured here - along with a load of other loveliness from this year's show. The dates for fans of beautiful bikes to pencil in to their diaries are the 21-23 May.

Schwäbisch Gmünd is within easy reach of the international airports at Stuttgart, Munich and Frankfurt and connected to major road and rail networks. Next year's show takes place a couple of weeks later in May to take advantage of a holiday weekend in Germany and the fact that there is also a program of cycling events being staged in and around the town over the period.

The first EHBE held in May this year was such a success that many exhibitors re-booked on the spot and the exhibition organisers promise that there will be even more to see at the 2010 with an improved floor layout and more booth spaces.

Among the stars of the first EHBE were the aforementioned Julie Racing Design from France, Demon Frameworks from the UK, and rafael from Germany, more established makers such as Merlin, Enigma, Pegoretti and De Rosa were also present too. Designed to be a European equivalent of the North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show (NAHBS – which has itself rapidly grown from humble beginnings to become a feature of the US bike scene) the first ever EHBE far surpassed expectations in terms of the number of exhibitiors and visitors next year's exhibition hopes to build on that and establish the EHBE as an integral part of the cycling calendar for everyone who loves beautiful bikes.
