Anyone tempted to buy a Dawes Galaxy? I remember being almost left-hooked by a "lads" car on my commuter bike and wondering how their crappy Halfords body kit would fair against a fat bloke on a steel bike.
Seriously though, there's bugger-all information here on what actually happened.
It does not surprise me that a crash with a cyclist can result in death or injury to the occupants of the car, although from the report it is not clear whether the car driver was killed though the crash or died in another way.
I demolished the 'A' pillar and wrote off a car when it hit me, and a videoed test of a rear-end shunt at 27mph saw the crash dummy from the bike flattening the car roof well in to the 'driver' space, so all is possible.
Obviously my sympathies to all those involved but...
Wow can't wait to see the daily fail's version of this I can just imagine the headline "lycra lout kills car driver"
