Tour of Britain Stage 1: Cannondale's Elia Viviani takes win and race lead

Italian outsprinrs Alessandro Petacchi, crash behind brings down some riders

Cannondale's Elia Viviani is the first leader of the 2013 Tour of Britain, the 24-year-old Italian taking the win at Drumlanrig Castle in Scotland ahead of one of his compatriots who is at the other end of his career, Omega Pharma-Quick Step's Alessandro Petacchi.

On a narrow finishing straight to the 209.9km stage from Peebles, Viviani fought to keep his bike upright, with the road damp from earlier rain and fallen leaves not helping with the traction. Behind, other riders were less fortunate as a big crash brought down several men.

Velonation adopted this tactic and I can understand why people don't want to see it in their news feed. However, for those of us watching our newsfeed to find out the result, it can lead to some very cryptic headlines.

Just switch your newsfeed off if you don't want to know the result!

Oi, you lot. How's about not giving away the result in the facebook headline. That way we don't accidentally know what happened before we get a chance to see the highlights show.
Put what you want in the article, but please, no spoilers in the headline.
