The five winners of this great competition have now been chosen and will be contacted shortly. Thanks for your entries!

* Update, 04/07/22, 12:35pm: This competition is now closed and our winners have been randomly selected! The winners are:

st3v3n

ckdundee

Jazbaz1986

CyclingGardener

clairewoods137

All five will receive an email soon to arrange delivery of their prize. If you haven't won, thanks for entering and better luck next time! There's already another chance to win!

It’s competition time! This one comes courtesy of Oxford and there will be not one, not two... but FIVE lucky winners. All UK-based* entrants will be in with the chance of winning a prize package with an RRP of up to £129.98, and entering couldn't be easier... simply leave a comment under this article!

What’s in the prize package, I hear you ask? Well that depends on what you’d prefer. Each winner will receive an Oxford Anchor 14 Flat Ground & Wall Anchor Kit (£49.99) and then a choice of either a Chain 12 & Padlock (£79.99) or Chain 10 & Mini Shackle (£49.99). Let’s take a closer look…

Oxford Anchor 14 Flat (£49.99)

Oxford comment competition ground anchor 14 closer

This small but powerful hardened steel anchor can be used inside or outside, mounted onto a wall or into the ground. The 14 in the name refers to the size of the shackle which is 14mm in diameter, so is going to take some serious work to get through. The anchor has a Sold Secure Diamond rating to give you (and your insurance company) piece of mind, and it has anti-tamper fittings. When not in use, the shackle folds flat and fits chains with a link diameter of up to 16mm. Which brings us on nicely to the next part of the prize...

Option 1: Oxford Chain 12 & Padlock (£79.99)

Oxford Chain12 and Padlock

The first option is this 1.5m heavy-duty chain with a double locking padlock. The chain features hardened 12mm square links and a flexible cloth sleeve to protect your bike's paintwork. The chain is once again Sold Secure Diamond rated, but a good chain might as well be pointless without a decent lock. Luckily this bundle comes with an Oxford padlock as well, with an 11mm hardened steel shackle which has been tested against sledgehammers, saws, bolt croppers and drills. It also comes with three keys so that you don’t get locked out, and a key dust cover to keep out the British weather.

Option 2: Oxford Chain 10 & Mini Shackle (£49.99)

Your other option is a slightly smaller chain paired with a mini shackle in lieu of the padlock. This chain is still Sold Secure Gold rated and 1.4m long with 10mm hardened square links. Once again, it’s sleeved within a flexible cloth to prevent unnecessary wear and tear to your trusty steed, and as it’s part of Oxford’s ‘Advanced Accessories’ collection it’s possible to get a new key cut if you lose yours. (As long as you’ve kept a record of the code on the original key)

How to enter

So that’s what you can win, but how do you go about putting your name in the hat? Well, luckily for you it’s very simple. You can comment basically anything at the end of the article; but please do keep it reasonably clean and at the very least friendly, anyone can read these comments! As an example you could tell us why this prize is ideal for you or what bike you ride, but no matter how creative you are we’re afraid it won’t make the slightest bit of difference as we’ll be picking the winners completely at random!

Oh, and if you don’t already have a road.cc account then it’s really simple to make one: verify your email address and a password, and then wait (normally not very long at all) to be approved.

The competition closes at midday on Monday, 4 July 2022, after which the five winners will be picked at random and put in touch with Oxford to arrange delivery of their excellent prizes. We wish all entrants the very best of luck, get commenting and check back here in a week’s time where we'll reveal the winner!

*This competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom only.

Jamie has been riding bikes since a tender age but really caught the bug for racing and reviewing whilst studying towards a master's in Mechanical engineering at Swansea University. Having graduated, he decided he really quite liked working with bikes and is now a full-time addition to the road.cc team. When not writing about tech news or working on the Youtube channel, you can still find him racing local crits trying to cling on to his cat 2 licence...and missing every break going...

Hi!
You really can't put a price on security. I remember when my steel frame genesis was stollen from outside Manchester university. They cut though a cheap d lock it was so totally devistating. I was tempted to wait in the hedge near the bike rack with a hammer and try and become a vigilante against bike theft. Luckily I didn't do it, but honestly, use a good quality lock people!

all the best to the community and hope I win!

I'd love one of these! Will be locking the extremely unwieldy chariot bike trailer that I can't bring in the house or garden without taking apart.
