The Oneten Lombardia Skull cap is a close fitting, windproof hat that will keep your head warm on the coolest of spring mornings.
Spring offers up its own challenges in the wardrobe department. It's too warm for your winter hat, a Buff might just not cut it either, so a middle hat is needed. A skull cap is a perfect solution to spring and autumn.
A close fitting hat with a windproof front panel, this cap definitely offers good protection from the elements. The lack of bulk under your helmet makes it extremely comfortable too. It covers your ears for extra warmth, but you can still hear everything around you.
Constructed of 91% polyester and 9% spandex the cap is stretchy and fits snugly. Made of panels that stop the wind at the front and thermal insulation at the back, it is a good mix of everything you need to keep warm.
This cap was a small and it fitted my head perfectly. The inner is a soft brushed fabric and offers that feeling of softness and luxury. The seams are well placed and didn't irritate me at all on any of my rides.
In terms of warmth in the real word, the coast of Scotland offers a good testing ground. With coastal winds making for slightly colder rides, this skull cap couldn't have come at a better time. My winter cap is too hot and this was perfect. It kept my head warm on early morning rides really well.
You soon don't even realise you are wearing it. It's very comfortable and lightweight. With sizes in small/medium and large/x large there will be a fit for most people. It is only available in black though. The price is really decent, and at £10.79, it's a little bit of a bargain.
Verdict
Well-fitted cap that keeps your head warm at a price that doesn't sting

I love skull caps, my Pearl Izumi one is great. Although once off the bike and with my helmet off, I do look like an extra from Wolf Hall.
