At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

Terry have been designing women's kit for over 20 years, and having long been a fan of their saddles it's good to see other bits of their kit like these Terry T mitts making their way here from over the pond.

These mitts immediately look a little bit different from the average as the palms are embossed with cute little silicon bikes, a nice grippy detail that work well. As well as visual appeal, the mitts feel very comfortable, with soft synthetic suede palms, stretchy nylon mesh backs and a generously thick terry towelling thumb, ideal for delicate, ladylike mopping of brows on summer days or when you're riding hard.

The gel pad at the heel of the hand felt very firm, but has proved to be very comfortable on everything from long day rides through to short commutes on bumpy lanes. The seams and stitching all feel smooth and unobtrusive and the mesh backs vent very well, keeping hands cool all day.

The Kevlar coating on the pads means that after 2 months there's no sign of wear, and although the palms are showing normal signs of wear, the tenacious silicon bikes are all hanging on in there, even after several washes.

I tested the Size M - my hands are long but narrow so could maybe have gone a size smaller, but even so, I didn't experience any rubbing or sore spots. The only minor downside I found was the Velcro for the wrist tab is long, so unless you have very small wrists or do them up tightly it can catch the the cuffs of longer jerseys, but that's a minor irritation on an otherwise well thought out glove.

Verdict

A comfortable, attractive, good value mitt, at home on the drops or on the flats and available in a range of colours

They're a good quality mitt and they are lasting well. Oh and you might like to know that the reviewer paid for them herself, because she liked the look of them and thought they deserved a review.
