road.cc LIVE: Ride a Whyte Wessex or Gisburn at our demo day event this month

Want to ride the new award-winning Whyte Wessex? You can at road.cc LIVE this month

It’s fast approaching, the first ever road.cc LIVE demo day event that is. We've got loads of cool bikes lined up for you to ride and today we're taking a look at what Whyte Bikes will be bringing along.

Taking place on Sunday 26 February at the Odd Down Cycle Circuit in Bath, we’re offering you the opportunity to test ride some of the latest bikes from the likes of Scott, Specialized, Canyon, Cube, Giant, Rose, Ribble and Whyte on a purpose built cycle track away from the distraction of cars and buses. It’s an ideal way to put a few different bikes through the paces and help you decide which new bike is right for you.

British brand Whyte will be offering you the chance to ride its award-winning Wessex (£2,250), the disc-equipped carbon fibre road bike that scooped two awards in road.cc's Bike of the Year 2016-17 last month, in both the sportive/endurance and commuter categories.

It’s a thoroughly modern road bike, with wide tyre clearance, disc brakes, thru-axles and mudguard mounts, and the company has even made its very own mudguards that fit perfectly on the frame. On-trend wide rims make the most of the benefits of wide tyres and they’re tubeless as well to avert dreaded punctures.

Whyte will have a good range of sizes including 52, 54, 56 and 58cm.  You can read our review of the Whyte Wessex here, and find out why we liked it so much. We reckon you'll probably like it too if you're looking for a fast and comfortable year-round bike.

If cyclocross and gravel/adventure riding is more your thing, then you’ll want to line up a ride on the Gisburn (£1,999). Whyte has utilised its extensive mountain bike background to piece together a highly capable and versatile bike, ideal for commuting, cyclocross racing or adventure riding.

The geometry is inspired by that found on a mountain bike, there's clearance for wide tyres and a SRAM 1x11 drivetrain provides simplicity and a huge range of gear ratios, and hydraulic disc brakes you bring you to a speedy halt.  Whyte will be bringing 54 and 56cm Gisburn demo bikes to ride.

You can see the full list of bike brands and models that will be available to ride at the demo day event right here. Tickets cost £30 and you can book them here.

Everyone who attends road.cc LIVE will get a free goody bag with great gifts from road.cc, Weldtite and more.

There are e-bikes too. Our sister site ebiketips.co.uk will be on-site and demo electric city and mountain bikes will be available.

See you there.
