Mavic is celebrating the Classics, notably the upcoming Paris-Roubaix, with the launch of a brand new range of cycle clothing and shoes finished in a limited edition design.
It has just unveiled the limited edition Cosmic Jersey, Cosmic Bib Shorts, Cosmic Pro Limited III shoes and a Road Cap. Each has a design inspired by the race, known as the Hell of the North, “with tough, gritty graphics matching the spirit of the event.”
- Mavic’s £900 Comete cycling shoes
We reckon the shoes are the highlight of this special range. Mavic has taken its top-end Cosmic Pro Ltd shoes and used the Flemish Lion as the basis for the design that covers the entire upper. We’d step out in them, would you?
The shoes get all the same tech as the regular Cosmic Pro shoes, so there’s an Ergofit tongue and dual rotary dials to keep the foot securely in the shoe and prevent slippage. The vents in the upper are laser cut and a full carbon fibre outsole delivers massive stiffness.
The clothing is based on Mavic’s regular clothing of the same name. The Cosmic Bib Shorts have Mavic’s own Ergo 3D Pro Endurance insert with an Ortholite memory foam that apparently increases shock absorption by 20%. Comfortable enough for Mavic brand ambassador Mike Cotty to ride 1,000km non-stop from Venice to Chamonix. Like you do.
- Paris-Roubaix - The Challenge, the t-shirt, the jersey…
The matching jersey is made from a Ride Wick fabric to provide good moisture transfer to keep you dry and prevent sogginess on a hot ride, with additional vents at the side to provide a way for cooling airflow to help regulate your temperature. It’s a tight, race-fit designed to be aero so there’s no fabric flapping in the wind.
Here are the prices:
Cosmic Pro Ltd III shoes - £230
Cosmic Limited III jersey - £65
Cosmic Limited II bib short - £125
Road Cap Limited III - £25

You're right about Mavic, but the Rapha Paris Roubaix jersey definitely has a Flanders Lion print on it...

Nice...but like Rapha they seem to have put the Lion of Flanders on their Paris Roubaix kit. Am I missing something?
No, but I think Road.cc got a bit confused for some reason. Mavic's website describes the collection as being inspired by the Spring Classics; no specific mention of Paris-Roubaix:
"Our latest LTD offer celebrates the brutal classics of the spring and the "hard men" that animate these iconic events. This limited edition jersey, with tough, gritty graphics, matches the spirit of the races. "
Lovely design - just wouldn't wear them all at once. Think I'll get the bibshorts.
jeepers is NOTHING scared to be capitalised on by the big bike companies?
If i see another "celebrate the passion of the >>>{fill in with a old race or dead rider who doesnt need a cut of the profits. In the time period of the now, targeted micro doesing of EPO and Post Rapha industrialism, just make products in nice colours that work.
We are all dull to the Paris Roubaix version of the bib shorts with a real cobble in the chamois
Mavic go back to making wheels- you are great at it.
I quite like that hat. The rest? Not so much.
Ooo you'd look a right bobby dazzler turning up to the club run be-decked in that lot!
Surely you wear the club kit on a club run?
