Wahoo Fitness introduces new Planned Workouts for Elemnt and Elemnt Bolt

You can now follow structured training sessions from TrainingPeaks and Today’s Plan coaching systems on screen

Wahoo Fitness has released a firmware and companion app update that offers the ability to import structured workout programs from either TrainingPeaks or Today’s Plan to its Elemnt and Elemnt Bolt cycling computers.

The Planned Workouts update allows the automatic wireless sync of up to a week’s worth of workouts to your computer. It’ll then guide you through a training session based on power, heart rate or cadence.

Check out our review of the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt GPS cycling computer here.

If you don’t have a TrainingPeaks or Today’s Plan account, you can gain access to a preloaded set of planned workouts, including two variable FTP (functional threshold power) tests and three interval sessions.

Read our Wahoo Elemnt GPS bike computer test here.

Once the workout has been loaded and is running, the Elemnt or Elemnt Bolt’s LED indicators provide visual notifications for countdowns to intervals, and can alert you if you’re ahead or behind your targets.

You can start, stop, pause and skip intervals according to conditions.

Check out our review of the Stages Dash cycling computer that also allows you to follow training sessions on screen.

Additionally, as of this release, both Elemnt and Elemnt Bolt computers are equipped with the ANT+ FE-C protocol of non-Wahoo trainers to complete a Planned Workout indoors.
