Goodyear launches tubeless sealant

Goodyear launched tubeless tyres this year, and has now developed its own tubeless sealant

Goodyear is the newest name in the cycling tyre market, with an impressive looking range of road, gravel and mountain bike tyres that all share the same tubeless compatibility. And now the company has launched a tubeless sealant to use with its tyres.

The new sealant, available later this month, has been “specially formulated” to prevent punctures up to 6mm and is claimed to last for up to seven months inside the tyres, with a shelf life of 18 months. It’s also designed to work in extreme temperatures including -34°C.

Goodyear has settled on a 150ml bottle size which it says is enough sealant for four 700x25mm tyres or two 29x2.6in mountain bike tyres. The bottle uses an off-centre pout for ease of use.

There’s a large choice in the tubeless sealant market and it’ll be interesting to see how Goodyear’s offering compares to more established products. We’ll hopefully get some in for review soon so we can find out.

The 150ml bottles will be priced $9.95 (we're waiting on UK prices) and be available separately or in packs of 12.
