Snow Commute, North Oxford

Avatar

Found this video of an Oxford cyclist's intrepid commute last week.

Film is a bit speeded up, but nevertheless he/she appears to be flying - couple of nasty wobbles, but doesn't deter them from giving the camera a wipe every now and again.

Commute is along the Banbury Road, finishing on St Giles with St John's College to the left and the Ashmolean Museum to the right.

A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.

Of course the fun really starts when the snow freezes and those nasty ruts become like tram tracks. You get into a rut and it's difficult to get out without falling-off!
