Why support the ride?
Stroke kills 50,000 people every year in the UK and leaves 50,000 severely disabled. We believe in life after stroke. We know that every step matters on the road to recovery. For one person it might be making a cup of tea for themselves. For someone else it might be taking their first steps for the first time after their stroke.
Every step matters. Every victory counts.

Here are a few statistics about the impact of stroke.

• There are around 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK today living with the impact of stroke; 1 in 3 survivors rely on someone to help them with daily living.

• 1 in 3 strokes are fatal within a year but we are winning the fight against stroke; today you are twice as likely to survive stroke compared to 20 years ago.

• Stroke is the third biggest killer in the UK, killing three times as many women as breast cancer and twice as many men as prostate cancer.

• In the UK, someone has a stroke every three and half minutes.

Thank you for making a difference.
