The Chrono is a UCI qualifying event for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, which gives amateur riders the chance to qualify and represent their country. The Chrono is a fully produced, mass participation, time trial run over a sporting circuit of 16.4 miles (26.4km) on fully closed roads, with it being the biggest time trial held in the World!
The start of the Chrono is indoors, with a fully produced start area with start ramp, sound and lighting, professional commentary and a countdown clock.
The Chrono caters for any rider who is at least 19yrs of age on Dec 31st in the year of the event who wishes to take the ‘Race of Truth’ under Pro conditions. The start sheet is set out according to UCI Masters Age / Gender Classification, with no seeding.
We have a spectacular Podium, where the fastest three riders in each UCI Masters Age / Gender Classification will be invited to a podium ceremony to be awarded UGWFS winners jerseys, medals and prizes.
Additionally, the Chrono contains a highly produced ‘Chrono Warm Up’ area with a substantial number of Turbos. The professional mechanics set your bikes up on the Turbos and take them off for your start.
