I've also got him in my purist. Feck.
Fernandez is out, broken collarbone.
If there's a stage winner i.e. a skinsuit surely there should be a lanterne rouge as well though? Not particularly bothered but.....
He's got a broken collarbone https://www.facebook.com/RideArgyle/posts/676206025748497
118 points 8 sprinters for tomorrow and no penalty points
Thanks. So he's lanterne rouge although his score is currently zero.
There is no lantern rouge in a TTT, because we score ALL team members the same, regardless of whether they got dropped or not
Is Koldo Fernandez out? Anyone know?
Came home as last man, not seen anything announced
Ive kept him as he isn't worth a penalty to axe
For a horrible moment I thought I may have to pick that shit Evans. Phew
I went with Durbridge, 2nd works too though
Standard
Matthews
Durbridge (Kittel in tomorrow)
Evans (bouhanni in tommorrow)
Wyss
Petacchi
Nizzolo
Viviani
Henao
Fernandez
won't be the best, but certainly won't be too bad (5/6 of the possible best 6 teams) Shame I won't get last man home!

Poor Dan Martin. More to the point, poor me! In purist, I lost Meersman on stage 2 of Paris-Nice, Tejay on Stage 2 of Romandie and now Dan Martin on stage 1 of the Giro! I chose...poorly.
So, hands up everyone else who picked Svein Tuft for the maglia rosa knowing it was his birthday today?
Me haha!
And me. One of the few things I got right
But Durbridge and Matthews are young riders and so score more points!!
Talking with Phil today and berating him for doubling the points on this stage as I'm normally rubbish on TTTs. Got some sprinters already but probably 3 transfers tomorrow. Never done well in the Giro, but a good start at least.
Put some money on Uran as well.

Didn't even bother with TTT. All geared up for tomorrow's sprint with the exception of transferring out Michael Hepburn
Eyes on the first 4 stages here. Think Orica and BMC will be top 2 in the TTT so have 2 each of those.
Depending on which team is top, I will almost certainly swap out 2 tomorrow for Bouhanni and Chicchi.
Ivan Santaromita (OGE)
Elia Viviani (CAD)
Daniel Oss (BMC)
Alessandro Petacchi (OPQ)
Francisco Jose Ventoso (MOV)
Ben Swift (SKY)
Michael Matthews (OGE)
Marcel Kittel (GSH)
Samuel Sanchez (BMC)
Then no more changes (barring injuries) until stage 5. Saving my transfers for later in this one as there are a few stages mid race that they will be needed.
full out TTT for me
2 Orica, 2 BMC, 2 Movistar, 2 Belkin, 1 Omega
Tuft
Santaromita
Quintana
Anton Hernandez
Evans
Sanchez
Kelderman
Goos
Petacchi
Big penalty points for you tomorrow!
Actually this is my Purist team, but don't tell anyone!
And I've taken a different tack with my standard - hoping for an Orica/BMC/Movistar 123 and planning on penalties tomorrow by transferring the first five of these...
Quintana (MOV)
Izagirre (MOV)
Wyss (BMC)
Eijssen (BMC)
Hepburn (OGE)

I've never done well in the giro. Have been top 100 in last 2 grand tours so would be happy with that again! Looking forward to seeing everyone's purist teams, I suspect the same two names, but a lot of variation other than that...
Purist team for me:
Daniel Moreno
Francesco Chicchi
Joaquin Rodriguez
Ben Swift
Igor Anton Hernandez
Michael Matthews
Domenico Pozzovivo
Sonny Colbrelli
Mikel Landa
Just checked my standard team and Locatelli has been scrubbed off ! great start for me.
Nairo Alexander Quintana (MOV)
Joaquin Rodriguez (KAT)
Marcel Kittel (GSH)
Sonny Colbrelli (BAR)
Ben Swift (SKY)
Julian David Arredondo (TFR)
Ivan Santaromita (OGE)
Fabio Andres Duarte (COL)
Francesco Chicchi (NRI)
There's my Purist, not giving away my standard, although...
4 x Italians
2 x Spaniards
1 x Brit
1 x Aussie
1 x German
2 of those to be replaced for stage 2 and beyond, which 2 depends on today's result.

I really wanted to squeeze kelderman in but couldn't quite justify it. Could be a good outside bet for top 6?
Well I finished 26th overall last year and 2nd in fs league to Jonas with my std I think ,so I'm hoping I can go one better this year.....bring on a nightmare tour for me now lol
