This is the nice thing about smaller races... Stats are easier to report...
Well, variety is the spice of life, and that's what the new day has brought to the competition... We now have a total of 874 teams in the competition... 36 more teams joined the competition overnight... Was it me?... No... Really...
There seem to have been at least 159 unique teams, as opposed to yesterday's 140. Here's what seems to be the most common team today with 68 teams seeming to share these scoring riders:
Nacer Bouhanni PC
Sacha Modolo PC
Edvald Boasson Hagen DS
Peter Kennaugh AR
Julian Alaphilippe AR
The usual caveats apply.
Not great for me just 1,3,4,8,15
Gonna have to make a few changes for tomorrow and see
1,3,4,10,15 + Kennaugh so better than yesterday
1, 3, 4, 15 for me.
Need to make some changes for tomorrow though.
I may get rid of the sprinters tonight and put them back in after stage 3. Plenty of transfers in this race given the parcours.
Good point, I'll have to have a look at that later. Lots of climbers here though and I'm bound to pick the wrong ones on Thursday, so need to bank enough transfers to rectify that on Friday!
1,2,3,4 for me - no transfers used so picked the right 4 sprinters by the looks of things.
My other four are all good for the TTT I hope (2 x Etixx, Orica, Astana) so I might just keep the same team for the next 2 stages and save transfers for the mountains.
The last couple of years I've started well and then the Giro has been the start of a slump, but this season has been the opposite so far...
Had a cheeky E/W on modolo so happy with that
3,4,8,10,15
1,3,4,6,10,15 plus Teklehaimenot for me
14:05:33 CEST
Confirmation of the results at the top of the Cuvéry shows that it was Teklehaimanot who went over the top first to add another 10 points to his lead in the mountains classification. His teammate Meintjes sneaked in to take some points in the peloton behind.
1. Teklehaimanot, 10 pts
2. Quemeneur, 8 pts
3. Courteille, 6 pts
4. Meintjes, 4 pts
5. Mate, 2 pts
6. Smukulis, 1 pt
seems the Col de Cuvéry hasn't made an impression and dropped anyone. Sprint on.
1 Change dropped Tommy V for Pete
