Pain on side of thighs when climbing

As I said doing the Ludlow welsh raid (very nice and great roads) when my legs just gave up the muscle on the inside of my knees just stopped working and throbbed like hell . after a rest and a picnic of gel bars I got going . I have a new bike with new pedals and saddle . Do i need another bike fit or shall I just swap pedals around from my existing bike and saddle or is it my fitness level and feeding plan any suggestions Please

Sounds like cramps. I concur with CXR94Di2, probably just lack of fitness for the terrain. Happens to the best of us once in a while. Rest a while, massage the cramped muscle with long strokes under thumb pressure, and/or try to stretch it if you can.

Did you setup new bike with exact dimensions as old bike?

If you did, then it's probably just fitness, you hit your limit and needed a refuel and rest.

Personally I would use same saddle and pedals from previous bike, if they were comfy over Long distance
