Hi all, sorry its been so long since I have been around, I have been busy at work and hom and have just returned from a holiday.
This place has always been a great support to me and as such I wanted to just post a quick update on how im doing (Some of you have seen this on my blog) ...Thanks again for all the support !
My road is and has been a VERY long one, but I am now around 4/5 stone away from my “Total” Goal and as such I wanted to take a quick look at where I have come from.
at over 550lbs this is where I started:

At around 400lbs this was the last time I took a vacation:

"Proof, it it were needed how long my road is, after losing 150lbs I still looked this bad."
and finally, after my vacation last week I am now around 290lbs, I am getting there, but I can’t ever forget where I came from !

My next goal is to have lost another 35-45lbs by Dec 31st this year, if I do that then I am in touching distance !!!!
If I can do it ANYONE can !!!
Wish me luck ! and thans again, Gaz

In your goals and achievements, the way you write about them and in the way you talk to anyone about them, you evoke admiration and give people hope they can change their lives too.
I've said it before but I don't think there's any harm in saying it again:
Gaz, you're a STAR, and an inspiration!
Simon, you are too kind , thank you very much.
You might be intrested in the new about me page on my bog, its a long read but its more open and honest than anything else I have ever wrote .
Gaz
Thank You![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)
good work
Fantastic! Keep it up - final straight!
Thanks - Lets Hope So !
Keep the faith, Gaz. Good luck - you'll get there
Thanks Mat
Any good low fat recipes to share?
Many mate, I should write a book![1](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/1.gif)
Bloody marvellous.
There is a theory that people who put weight on very easily have efficient metabolisms, which is a good thing to have for a sport like cycling. The classic example is Eddy Merkcx, who put on a lot of weight after he stopped competing.
Cheers Man
It's an intresting point you make, it will also allow me to say, no im not fat, nor was I , I was just Eddy Merckx in retirement![4](https://cdn.road.cc/sites/all/modules/contrib/smiley/packs/smilies/4.gif)
Well done Gaz.
That's obviously taken some doing and staying power. You are an inspiration.
I'm supposed to be losing a bit of weight, couple of stone, but like Dave I still need my biscuit fix.
Best of luck in reaching your year end target.
John
Thanks John
Appreciate your comments
Thanks Dave
Nahh, I had the weight to lose in the first pace, I applaude anyone who loses any amount of weight , however small, as they are making chnages that could give them years on there lives.
Just think how much better ou already feel for that 2 stone, well done ad keep it up mate.
Gaz
top work, shrinking gaz. makes my effort to lose 3 stone look like a pretty lame effort. especially since i haven't managed it yet. 2 down, 1 to go... Must. Stop. Eating. Biscuits.
