Planet X bike advice

So I ordered a Planet X rt 58 yesterday But in two minds whether to change now

my question is should I change and get a pro carbon instead? I have bought the bike for training purposes mainly, (to compliment another sport) however I may consider a few races on it? After people telling me it's a relaxed sportive genometry will it be worth doing any? Will it actually make much Of a difference to a amateur like myself? I will probably be doing rides of 30-50 miles 4 times a week. What type of milage will I have to be doing to see a advantage of the sportive frame? And finally could I make the bike more of a race if I wanted with different bars stems etc. I'm fairly new to road bike side of things, I have been riding my mtb on the roads for the last couple of years.

Also so money is a issue can't really justify spending any more than £750 but they are on offer at the moment.

thanks

I have also got the XL frame size, not sure if that makes a difference. Could the 58 be modified to be more racier? Or will I not even know a difference?

Cool, yeh is the carbon likely to be a harsher ride than the alloy 58? Is the carbon no superior to it? Realistically would there be much speed difference between the 2?

We have one at home that we use exclusively as an indoor trainer although I've ridden it on the road a few times. It's a decent bike for that money, not light but what do you expect for that cash. It would make a great training bike until you want to get something else maybe.

Better to go alloy than cheap carbon.

I wouldn't say it's a relaxed sportive bike. The medium has a headtube length of 15cm which isn't exactly high. Compare that to a Giant Defy (16) or a Canyon Endurace (17).

It's the alloy one I have bought link here

got a few extra little bits for it, carbon seat post as I was told it will smooth out the ride. I have read some reviews saying the carbon pro is prone to snapping?

probably will work out about £150 more for the carbon

I have a Pro Carbon. It's a great bike but it's got sod all tire clearance and can be very firm. The RT-58 is next level. I would stick with that.

Do you mean RT58 aluminum or the discontinued RT58 Carbon ?

I have a RT 58 Carbon and it is a brilliant frame. Despite it being a " sportive" orientated frame it still packs a punch as well as being very comfortable. If you can still get one of these then go for it as you will not regret it .

I mean the carbon, didn't realise it was discontinued. Two clubmates have the carbon and I do really like them, though I'm happy with my Pro Carbon (for now)
