Is it worth rebuilding a broken Mavic Ksyrium Pro SL?

Hit a pretty bad pothole at the weekend which caused the rim of my front wheel to shatter into 4 peices.
The hub is still intact and appears fine. Is it worth buying a new rim and spokes and rebuilding? The wheel is a Mavic Ksyrium Pro SL.

When I was discussing a wheel upgrade with my bike mechanic, one of the advantages of hand-built wheels was that any of the components could be repaired/replaced, hence I went down that route.  He also wouldn't source factory wheels as he couldn't compete with the web, so it would have been repair by replacement if I'd chosen that route.  Disadvantage was the cost (Dura ace hubs with Mavic rims)!

Slightly OT but you might be able to claim the cost from the roads authority.

Worth checking if that pothole had been reported on a few of the popular reporting sites. Ask the council when that stretch was last inspected and for a copy of the report. If they had failed in their responsibilities to repair a known fault they'd be liable for damage incurred by users.

You'd need some proof you were there, of course. GPS tracker or witnesses maybe. And a photo of the crater.

More guidance online.

My experience in the past was that the rim was about as expensive as replacing the wheel, so I'd say no, just replace the wheel.
