Sorry, meant to say, I take it that someone of importance within the delivery company has viewed the dashcam and sacked the driver on the spot as their driving was so bad?
I have some sympathy for the gig economy and 'accident Wednesday, sacked by Sunday' seemed pretty severe, unless......
Sorry to hear about your friend's accident.
Do you have a copy of the dashcam? Do the police have a copy? Make sure that the company's Transport Manager knows to keep it safe.
I've used Slater Gordon before and they were very professional.
Good luck.
There is a copy of the dashcam footage.
My friend has gone with a company called cyclelegal.
The solicitor must have thought he has a good case as he travelled down on the train to Southampton to meet him.
Friend's hip has been operated on and it seems to be a success. Now the rehabilitation begins.
Seconded.
In England, Slater Gordon and Leigh Day have the lion's share of business from cyclists who are members of one of the key organisations.
As such, they have the greatest experience in cycling related cases.
In cases covered by Scots Law, Digby Brown are contracted by Leigh Day to act for BC members. I'm not sure who gets the Cycling UK members cases.
Hope your mate has a speedy and complete recovery and is compensated appropriately.
Slater Gordon are Cycling UK's preferred solicitors, and Leigh Day get the referrals from British Cycling and BTF. I've been on the receiving end of Irwin Mitchell's attentions in a professional capacity, and found them to be able and decent. Thompsons do work in this area (union / house insurance referrals I think), though I found them to be a bit bucket shop and cut and pastey. Definitely avoid the one man back street operations - they neither have the expertise nor the stamina to follow things through in my experience.
Given the potential complexity of your mate's claim, it may well be adviseable not to approach the third party insurer directly. All the best for your mate's recovery.
