Driver charged with attempted murder

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-45855353

We can only hope that the CPS don't downgrade this and a jury don't let this cretin off, the judge slap him on the wrist with yet another 'don't do it again' comment.

Who are we kidding, be out in less than 2 years IF he even gets a guilty charge of serious injury by dangerous driving.

Just round the corner from my sister's house. Apparently the cyclist had both legs amputated. I wonder if this dangerous driver will be treated the way all other dangerous drivers are when they cause death or injury?

He wasn’t charged with dangerous driving. Try to keep up.

As above, he had a weapon which suggests intent, which is what is crucially lacking in all the careless/dangerous offences.

He was also drunk, and drink driving is frowned upon these days, so that won’t help his cause.

To be fair this could be slightly different to the normal ones that we see here. The fact that he was carrying a blade means that it could have been a premeditated action (with a specific victim in mind) before he even entered the vehicle.
