Beryl Burton
it would have been Beryl's 82nd birthday the other week, a few days before mine, I was thinking about her today and mentioned her at work as been one of the greatest athlete's ever, any sport/any era, that she was an amateur and working mum to boot just makes her achievements even more ridiculosuly impressive.
I found another bit of footage presented by Phil Liggett from around 6-7 years back that I hadn't seen, not particularly long but there was a nice surprise for her husband Charlie and daughter Denise.

It's painted on the back of the library in Morley town centre. It's been there at least 10 years and no graffitti.
Seen it many times, actually visited it once a long while back.

Very nice BTBS, I enjoyed that. Translated to the modern era her achievements would have made her a celebrity and a millionaire but somehow I don't think she would have enjoyed that side of things.
