Lady luggage

Lady at work is looking for a front mounted rack or basket for her hybrid commuter..

Alas a couple of weeks back she ended up on the bonnet of a car after it pulled out of a car-park without the driver paying enough attention, she wasn't too banged up and her bike did more damage to the car than it received.. Rider does still have a few back/muscle probs so isn't happy to carry her laptop back-pack, doesn't want panniers but thinks a removable basket or front rack would suit her style..

I pointed to these: http://store.yankodesign.com/bike-rack-bag-by-po-campo

She pointed out it costs more than the bike! 3

Anyone got or tried one of the many mesh style baskets?

It's just a thought but wouldn't a laptop get quite badly shaken if it was fitted to the bike rather than the cyclists body? I have rear panniers and they rattle like a mad thing over the tarmac (Aberdeen cycle routes aren't the smoothest) - Unless the bike has suspension or the laptop is well padded in the bag I guess.

I believe the Rixen Kaul are very popular http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Brands.aspx?BrandID=1111&PartnerID=23... alternatively another popular choice is Basil http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Brands.aspx?BrandID=948&PartnerID=232... they do some stylish things. I have an Altura rear rack top bag which is brill.
