It's just a thought but wouldn't a laptop get quite badly shaken if it was fitted to the bike rather than the cyclists body? I have rear panniers and they rattle like a mad thing over the tarmac (Aberdeen cycle routes aren't the smoothest) - Unless the bike has suspension or the laptop is well padded in the bag I guess.
I believe the Rixen Kaul are very popular http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Brands.aspx?BrandID=1111&PartnerID=23... alternatively another popular choice is Basil http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Brands.aspx?BrandID=948&PartnerID=232... they do some stylish things. I have an Altura rear rack top bag which is brill.
