Ditto, swapped him out last night, plus I went with the wrong Sky climber 2

This TJV Garderen is such a thankless fella. Didn't do a thing for the 7 stages I had him in my team and the first stage after I swap him out, he's in the break 7

I chopped Cav and used the funds to get Frank Schleck. I can see Alberto and co that are down on time trying to make something up on this stage, so the likes of the schlecks will be in the thick of it! 39

I'm going to be watching through clenched fingers from behind the sofa as Hoogerland (couldn't afford him!) dances out ahead of the peloton sweeping up all of the KOM and sprint points, before I tumble out of the top 50 like a member of Team Sky 20

Right decided Kloden and Fofonov

See, I have Kloden already, but am thinking about swapping him for Evans to get me yellow points (obviously banking on that), and am banking on Gilbert to go green. My conundrum: Can Thor do something?

Edit: f**k it. I've had a few drinks and I'm feeling brave. My 38 point lead over the NWales league dwindled to a meagre 4 points today, let's see if it holds tomorrow. So if Thor somehow stays yellow, I'm bummed.

i already had kloden, stuck with uran and gilbert, ive gone fuglsang for feillu, and u reckon hushovd is more likely to make it through mountains than rojas? thought rojas did a pretty good job at tds, so stays in my team and not too expensive atm. kept thomas as reckon he may go in the break 2moz, jerome in as standard, kept galimzyanov as there is a flat stage on tuesday i think so dont wanna get rid of all sprint options just yet, and then hopefully my wildcard FDJ rider

Kloden in for me. But who to swap out of the ds Thomas?
I need a medium mountain specialised ds. Dupont maybe

Made the changes - new GC & Voeckler. Hope he makes the break, and makes it stick, tomorrow.

Fingers crossed 'cause given my current team tomorrow could easily turn into a single digit scoring day as well! 22

At 2:36 down Sammy Sanchez might try and make up some time on the big descent from the cat2 climb. He's not in my team (and pretty expensive too) but I've put a pound on him to win at 25-1 4

He might go today but realistically it's not the kind of stage that he's going to make a bunch of time on, so he might as well keep his powder dry. The big climb of the day is too far out and the last climb isn't steep enough to really work to his advantage, which is changes of pace and quick recovery.

Emma Pooley's just won Stage 8 of the Giro d'Italia Donne.

Got Kloden (from the start - done better than I thought), swapped Feillu for F Schleck, and regrettably swapped out Thomas for a lowly climbing DS to free up the points. Last night I should have gone for Pate instead of keeping Vichot, who was yesterday's surprise, but foolishly stayed loyal to him. Will probably swap Thor for Cavendish for a couple of stages and then go for a cheapie sprinter.

Big question is, will Contador attack tomorrow or wait for the big mountains?
What do people think?
Barring further crashes this tour should be won by a Schleck and my money is on Frank.
Big pity about Wiggins - there are too many crashes, it's getting crazy!

Stuck in a similar conundrum here. Need to change at least half my team with just 2 transfers 2

Money's stuck in Gilbert & Thor but have a feeling they'll be in decent state tomorrow. They'll suffer day after, but tomorrow they just might survive and deliver some points.

Wanna swap out Miller too but confused if I should go with more assured GC points of Frank Schlek or possible mega points a Vockler, Vino or Chavenel might earn with a successful break away.

Did I mention, I wanna get in Jerome Pineu, Klodi, Dupont & Sorensen.

Can I pick a new team for rest of the race? Por favor!

I've seen Thor stay with the pace on harder parcours than tomorrow's. It's not exactly the high mountains...

He did it in 2009 when he stayed with the breakaway over a load of Cat 1 climbs to take all the intermediate sprint points. But he generally got dropped on those climbs and made it up on the descents, I can't see him hacking it with the GC boys on the last climb especially if Bertie tries to make back some time. So far he hasn't shown any interest in intermediate points but I think he has a better chance of green than anyone else on the Garmin team given he can get over some big hills.

That doesn't sound too bad although tomorrow might be an alright day for Gilbert with an early intermediate sprint.

Thats the whole problem, Hushovd knows he's going to lose the yellow and knows he can get through the mountains better than Cav and Rojas, not sure about Gilbert, but i think he'll go for points to try and get in on the green

Dammit, today was the first day I haven't had any need to make a transfer, shame I can't say the same tonight. After being in a really strong position today's events have royally screwed my team. I need to decide who to dump out of Thor and Gilbert to free up money to replace Wiggo. Thinking Gilbert for Frank Schleck and Wiggo for Kloden is the best I can do.

You could always pick up Uran, it's not as if he's got anyone else to work for now so why not go after something else like Polka Dot or stage wins. Of those three I'd probably drop Hushovd although I'm not completely convince he won't get points tomorrow. It all depends on how hard the GC guys who are off the pace go. Contador could really blow a hole in the field if he goes hard and early.

Tell me about it, i've still got 1 transfer, but i have Evans, Gilbert and Hushovd, so i dont know which one to chop for some cash so i can replace Mollema for someone else that can climb

I've hung onto Gilbert too and dumped Hushovd to try and free up some cash for a decent GC guy. This was all so much easier when I had a boat load of cash...

That's what I'm thinking. I was going to hang onto Gilbert for tomorrow (I swapped EBH for him yesterday which was good, but then he lost the green on the intermediate, so bit of a loss all round.) Thinking of drafting Evans in and a cheaper sprinter.

Well that all depends on your other riders, you want to have someone can go up hill apart from your GC and KM

Thor may be well outta the GC 2moro BUT he might still be get you some green jersey points, the same with Gilbert
