You can see my TEam In the League. Basiclly froome, Sagn And Cav.
That fud Carlton Kirby, had me screaming at the telly when he said it was degenkolb going for the line, thought for a few seconds my crazy ideas on team selection may just have worked
The big points are in stage wins and Cav is the safest bet to pick up the most wins. He may be 25% of the team budget but that only makes a difference if you could guarantee you were able to pick other stage winners for his points, which is unlikely.
Apart from Cav my purist team is:
Porte - likely to be consistently in top 10 on mountain stages and GC towards the end. Hoping he'll pick up nearly as many points as Froome but for a lot less money.
Quintana - also likely to be consistently in top 10 on mountains and win or be near top of young rider comp.
Kittel - cheaper than Greipel and Bouhanni with just as much chance, if not better, of high stage placings.
Nieve Ituralde - reasonably priced and likely to be up there on mountain stages, maybe also will go for KOM jersey.
Lobato - don't know much about him but told he is a fast sprinter, maybe on stages not for pure sprinters. Not expensive so worth a punt.
Serpa - good climber, cheap.
Hoogerland - good value and may feature in some breakaways or early KOM.
Mederel - hoping he'll pick up some lanterne rouge points.
Degenkolb wont even be sprinting on the flat stages though, so I can't see your logic. For the price of Degenkolb, surely Bouhanni would have been a better option, or even Kittel at 8 credits cheaper, as Kittel will score more than Degenkolb.
But at the end of the day its your team and we shall see

Some very different teams there.
I think sky will try to control as much as possible and just let anyone who isn't a threat to GC get away.
Meaning a lot of the expensive GC riders may just neutralise each other and win very few points. Sagan is a good bet for green Jersey and degenkolb is a great sprinter for a fraction of Cavs price.
Try as i might i just couldn't make room for schleck or Voeckler. think i may just regret that one but too late now.
Hmmm....I'm no way a Cav-Lover but Degenkolb is possibly not even the best sprinter in his team(Kittel?) whilst Cav is definitely the world's best.It's true that Degenkolb is a fraction of Cav's price but that fraction is rather a large one(OVER two thirds),and I think his price is inflated thanks to his flat-track bullying of a weak sprint field in the Vuelta.
Do you think Degenkolb will score 70% of Cav's total in LeTour?
My reasoning is that for over 25% of your budget you would need Cav to win almost every sprint to justify putting all your eggs in that basket.
Cav is a phenomenal sprinter but can be a little moody when everything is not going exactly to plan.
Only time will tell and i will most probably be proven wrong but with most people taking cav and therefore neutralising any pints won i thought i would think out the box a little. As i said, i will probably be proven wrong

I've gone for the tactic of 2 big names and then whatever I can afford...

Talansky (no more than a gut feeling, and he could have the white jersey for a while if Garmin win the TTT)
Kittel (cheap for potentially 5 top 6 finishes)
Egoitz Garcia (closest thing Cofidis have to a sprinter, and can get over the lumpy stuff OK, so may pick up a few 10th places)
Hoogerland, Le Mevel, El Fares, Palacios - the best I could do with the remaining funds. Good chances of breakaways for all of them though I think.
Cavendish-5 or 6 stage win chances plus green jersey pts.
Sagan-stage win chances,green jersey pts,possible youth and yellow jersey early on.
Dennis-youth contender,decent climber,excellent TT'er
Hoogerland-break away man,Polka Dots?
Navarro-underrated climber
Bonnet-got to have an FDJ
Cunego-best descender in the race with no Sanchez/Nibali
Gadret-underpriced
Schleck-9.2 credits for the bookis NINTH favourite
